The Wahpeton boys tennis team continues its search for points in a 9-0 loss to Red River on Thursday. “We played the best team in the state today and they came out swinging. I think our kids showed a lot of heart and stroked the ball with no fear,” coach Kyle Christianson said.

Tennis his way: John McEnroe starts academy
John McEnroe wants a hand in reviving American tennis. He wants to do it his way. The John McEnroe Tennis Academy opens Sept. 13, the day after the U.S. Open. The academy will be on Randall's Island, a strip of land between Manhattan and Queens. McEnroe wants it to be a place where young players can develop without leaving home and moving to a boarding school and tennis academy.

KINGSFORD - The ninth annual Kinfolk Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament raised more than $1,000, according to coordinator Phyllis Laurila. "This is a very unique tennis tournament with families, adults and children interacting and playing against each other," Laurila said.
