Open Question: Can I get into Cornell U?

I'm about to enter my senior year in high school. I'm interested in entering the engineering college. Here's my resume: GPA: 4.769 weighted (slightly higher now, haven't seen the updated one) unweighted: whatever all a's and one b in one semester of an honors course is. Rank: 10/540ish (don't have updated rank, my rank may be up or down a few spots) SAT: 2090 (800 math, 650 reading, 640 writing) ACT: 33 (36 science, 35 math, 32 writing, 30 reading) 8 on essay SAT2: 730 US History, 640 Math2 (will retake along with biology, didn't study the first time) Junior board member of Children's Heart Foundation: Florida Chapter National Honor Society Science National Honor Society President of Jewish Awareness Club, treasurer 09-10 school year Treasurer of Chemistry Club Mu Alpha Theta freshman, junior, and upcoming senior year. Will be treasurer next year, won 2 competitions in my time here. Robotics club freshman and sophomore year Varsity tennis team all four years Paid internship at engineering company this summer Worked at pizza place last summer and a summer camp for 2 summers before it. Peer Connectors freshman year to present (selective process where students at school show freshman around school and act as mentors for them to ease transition into high school) I'm also in the engineering academy at my school, and have taken many engineering-related classes, such as Biotechnology, POE (principles of engineering), CIM (computer integrated manyfacturing), and IED (Introduction to Engineering and Design). Rochester gives college credit for some of the courses, and it is part of the Project Lead the Way curriculum (PLTW). Cornell would be a great place for me to go to school, so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Open Question: Why are these houses so cheap?

I have been wanting to move to costa rica and I found this website with houses for rent on it and the prices seem so low! I mean, for example this house is up alone in the mountains, has a pool, and has a tennis court. 4 bed 6 bath. $3,000 a month. OMG! A house like that where I am in florida would be like $20,000 Is costa rica a bad place or something for the houses to be soo low priced? Me and Tyler have been friends since we were 12. My family loves him and his family loves me. We're now both going into our junior year of college. He goes to college up in Canada though and I am in Florida. We just recently became in touch because he is back home for the summer and I went to watch his tennis tournament (I used to play too). We hadn't spoken in at least five years but I Facebook messaged him letting him know I'd be coming. When I got there, I gave him a hug (I initiated) and right away he asked if I wanted to leave and get food. We talked and ate, and he introduced me to a couple of his friends and we sat with them. We didn't really flirt, just kinda talked sports and school and stuff. When we got back to the courts, we split cuz he had to play a match. We didn't find each other again until I was leaving, but he (with his parents sitting right behind him and my dad standing behind me waiting for me) initiated a hug goodbye this time and made sure I was coming back tomorrow to watch again. The thing is, he plays at 8am tomorrow and I can't make it cuz it takes an hour to drive there. He's leaving at the end of the summer, but I still want to ask him to hang out cuz I am attracted to him. How should I go about it? And if a girl asks a guy to hang one on one will he automatically assume it is a date?

So many pros live in Florida, so many academies are there, but I'd like to vacation somewhere this year where there are a whole bunch of public courts with many other amateurs to meet and practice with....In other words, free tennis all day, all night! lol. (I'm going to be a senior in high school) GPA: UW:3.77/W:3.9 SAT:M:730 W:680 CR:600 (2010) ACT: 29 SAT II: 770 Math2, 680 Chem., 660 French Fresh/Soph year: a bunch of honors Jr: 3 AP's, Chem (3), USH (2), English Comp (4) Jr. summer: Calculus 1 at comm. college: A Sr: AP stats, AP Lit, APGov/Econ, French 4, HP Physics, Accounting 1 Teacher Rec: French teacher who I will have had for 4 years by senior year "fostered" me throughout high school and I always got A's in her class, she loves me. AP English Comp teacher said if we got As in his class (Which I did) and a 4 or 5 on the AP test, (I got a 4) he would right us "a glowing recommendation) Essays: they will probably be the highlight of my application because I enjoy writing! EC's: 4 years tennis (3 varsity), 2 years of Marching band/concert band(I couldn't do 4 b/c it conflicted with tennis, which I chose to do because i like it more) Invited to Disney World in Florida to play ( I went) Other random band/tennis awards. 4 years French club (VP 11th, Pres. 12th probably) 2 years Faith club, 2 years FBLA, 2 years CSF. 300+ hours of community service at local rehab center, (hospital). Awards: I really do not have a lot of awards except a writing contest award and a couple of mediocre awards in other stuff. Hooks: Low income family, 1st generation college student, brother goes to West Point (will that help at all?) COMMENTS: My school doesn't offer too many AP's in general, only jr.'s and sr.'s usually take APs. IMy transcript shows a really visible upward grade trend. (I got 3 B's combined in Freshman year and 1st semester of sophomore year I got 2 B's and 1 C, but after that I got only 1 B per semester with a lot of honors/AP classes.) I took Ap Euro soph year but I failed the exam (i got a 2) Junior year I took HL ITGS and sl bio. I got A's in both these subjects but I got 4 B's in IB Calc, spanish 3, Ap American History, and English. I failed the Ap exam again Senior year I am taking TOK and Ap Calc. Im really good at math so I will pass the Ap exam in Calc. I slacked off Junior year since I decided I would rather hang with firends than do my work.. I plan to get 5 As and a B next year in Spanish I suck at SAT (1810) Reading-530 Math-630 so I am just going to turn in my ACT score which isnt much better at a 28. I'm going to take it one more time shooting for a 30. I played JV tennis 2 yrs and varsity tennis 2 yrs Im in National Honor society Volunteered at hospital and a discovery camp I was in SGA for three years I am in my indianyouth group I was in a Leadership program (LOMY) where 40 students are chosen from marion county I am in Pink Ladies as a T-Bird please respond thanks alot..

okay, so i really need help. im going to be starting a new school this year and they have uniforms. we get to go out and buy our outfits but a strict code. here it is....please help make it cute.... Proposed Dress for Success School Attire Policy Basics 2010 - 2011 Tops: A polo style shirt, with sleeves, in solid color or with stripes is acceptable for boys and girls. No large logos can be displayed, except for a school related approved logo. Undershirts can be visible giving a layered look. NO BUTTON UP SHIRTS ARE ALLOWED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SPECIAL EVENTS approved by the administration. Bottoms: Plaid and solid color cargo and capri style bottoms in cotton and/or cotton/polyester blends. Straight legged, boot cut or slightly flared pants are acceptable.
