Open Question: Do you have to try out for the tennis team for Enid, OK middle schools?

My sister signed up for tennis in advisory, but she wasnt sure whether she has to try out or if its just a sign up thing. So for Enid, Oklahoma middle schools, as in Waller, Emerson, and Longfellow, do they have to try out for the tennis team or do is it just a sign up thing? I know you have to try out for cheer and pom, wasnt sure about tennis though. Best answer to whoever can give the most information and possibly give a link? Thanks (:

Open Question: Physics approximating values, forces, velocity?

A tennis ball has a mass of 0.057 kg. A professional tennis player hits the ball hard enough to give it a speed of 40 m/s (about 90 miles per hour.) The ball moves toward the left, hits a wall and bounces straight back to the right with almost the same speed (40 m/s). As indicated in the diagram below, high-speed photography shows that the ball is crushed about d = 2.4 cm at the instant when its speed is momentarily zero, before rebounding. Making the very rough approximation that the large force that the wall exerts on the ball is approximately constant during contact, determine the approximate magnitude of this force. What is the average speed of the ball during the period from first contact with the wall to the moment the ball's speed is momentarily zero? | Vavg | = __ m/s - to find average velocity, I need displacement/change in time.. I have displacement as .024 m, but I don't have a change in time. How much time elapses between first contact with the wall, and coming to a stop? DeltaT = ___ seconds What is the magnitude of the average force exerted by the wall on the ball during contact? | Favg | = ___N In contrast, what is the magnitude of the gravitational force of the Earth on the ball? mg = ____ N I don't really know how to approach this problem. We had been studying approximations, but I don't really know what to approximate here. Any help would be appreciated
