Open Question: Greyhound Sucks and I need to Sue?

On New Years Eve my boyfriend and I took a bus from Vancouver to Alberta. The ride was about 24 hours but less than 2 hours later our bus stopped for what was supposed to be a 20 minute coffee break and the last stop with shops open. We were gone 10 minutes and they left us. We were given the option of waiting for the next bus in an hour or taking a taxi to the next place which would be reimbursed and the bus would wait. We spent $100 on a cab and the bus was not there. We spent New Years in a small town with only our coffee mugs and wallets. I told them when they first left us and on the the phone over 3 times over the next day that my carry on contained thousands of dollars worth of stuff and I needed them to take it off the bus. They have a monopoly and don't care about their customers. They never called back, never found my bag and didn't even truly apologize (just a generic form letter that didn't even mention lost baggage). This is a HUGE safety concern that they would leave people behind with their luggage on the bus (could have been a bomb, dangerous materials etc) Grey Hound says I can't give me money because of a "published tariff" they can not deviate from that they are not responsible for unchecked baggage. I have taken business law and I know that they when you take ownership of possessions (which they essentially did when they left us 2x and did not take take care of my belongings) they are liable and after so much stress (over 4 months to respond with another form letter) a ruined 3 week vacation (hours on the phone the entire time tracking them down since they never called back when promised) I take greyhound (no longer) and don't have a ton of money. I want to sue but I can't find what under, personal injury but I am not physically injured. Any help as to where to look and how much it may cost me would be appreciated. Any Greyhound alternatives in BC (ground not air) as I am never traveling by greyhound since they care neither for our belongings or our personal safety.

Open Question: Tips on a stay in Edinburgh?

Hi, I'm going to Edinburgh for a long weekend and was hoping for some tips. Where's best to eat? Where's best for drinks? What's a must see? ETC Also, our hotel doesn't let us book in until 3 and they don't provide somewhere to leave luggage. Is there anywhere that provides secure storage, maybe the train station or somewhere?

Open Question: How can I get eatable shipped from India to Ottawa?

I want my parents to send me some edible items like spices & other preservable eatables in air tight packings etc. as per rules. But do not know which agency in India or Air Couriers deal in this work, as it is said that US/Canada rules do not permit shipping of eatable to those countries. Is it true, if not, how can I get them through post/air mail etc.Kindly give details. Can I bring any eatables etc. with me in luggage while coming back from India & what are the restrictions placed, if any.

Open Question: Info on Disney's Magical Express?

My family is heading to Disney World and we have signed up for Disney's Magical Express to and from the airport. Our flight arrives at 11:45 a.m. in Orlando. How long will it take us to arrive at our resort (Port Orleans) and when can I expect my luggage to arrive? Any horror stories or does it run pretty smoothly? What about departing? Flight is at 9 a.m. home to St. Louis. Thanks so much for your input.

Open Question: Does anyone blame the FAA/Airport Security and Government at all for September 11th 2001? .?

I feel both sadness about Septembe 11th and also anger for the FAA and Government. First why on earth were 4 inch knives and box cutters and mace allowed on any commercial aircraft? Secondly why on earth were these cockpit doors made so poorly. That makes me upset. I also do not understand how airport security could have been so lax not checking the carry on luggage and not checking the terrorists for weapons. I don't understand how that failure happened. In once video from the airport you can clearly see what looks like a knife in one of the pockets of a hijacker. I really feel the government also failed in a huge way. The Italians and many other countries warned us about an attack by planes but we did not listen at all. Why did we not take that seriously?? Were these terrorists even on any sort of watch list and why were they allowed to board the planes? The cia and the fbi also did not even share information and they failed so bad on 9/11. I am just so mad we made it so easy for these animals to do what they did. I also feel every plane should have an air marshal and the planes back them should have also had them as well. I also feel that planes should be equipted with parachutes in case of emergencies for every passenger and crew member. We really failed as a county on 9/11 and it makes me very angry. We could have totally avoided 9/11 if we would have protected ourselves. Another thing I feel planes should have is some kind of remote flying. When the planes were hijacked the plane could have been controlled by air traffic control remotely. Has anyone ever thought of that before? Also why is there even an otion to shut the transponder off. The first plane which slammed into the North Tower of the WTC had shit its trasnsponder off by the terrorists. That should have never even been an option to turn it on or off it should just be on all the time without an option to turn it off. I also feel there should be a way to listen in on the plane in the cockpit and cabin so if there is a problem gound control can hear what is going on just by pushing a button to listen remotely. Is the FAA even thinking about any of this to help keep us safe. One last thing I wonder. Did the terrorists have a back up plane if airport security stopped them from entering the planes? I wonder about that, would they just start stabbing security in the airport and do whatever they had to to board the plane. I really wish all of the other flights which were hijacked had passengers who faught the terrorists like the last one that cashed in the field in PA.

Open Question: First time flying/internationally, any advice?

I will be flying for the first time ever in about two weeks. The fact that it's an international flight for my first time is a little daunting. I will be leaving a TX, USA airport and arriving at Manchester airport in UK with two connecting flights in-between, one in Memphis (MEM) airport and one in Amsterdam (AMS) with about two hours at each airport. One of the things worrying me is my checked luggage. The whole flight will be with Delta airlines. Will all my luggage be transferred for me all the way until I arrive in Manchester or will I have to somewhere along the way recheck my bag? I plan on calling the airline again soon to ask these questions but would really like feedback from people who have experienced this. Thank you.
