Fredys Groovy School Backpack Reports

Open Question: Would you answer my baby name game questions?

1) You decide to go backpacking through Europe with some friends one summer. While in Spain you fall in love. Who is this love and what are they doing in Spain? 2> After a certain amount of time you decide to make it official and either get married to this other person or undergo some other sign of permanent fidelity and attachment. How long does it take and what do you do? Where do you decide to live? 3) After another certain amount of time you decide you two want a child. You both want a boy. How do you obtain said child? Well you want to name the boy after a family member and your partner wants to name him after the greatest guitar player in history...So you compromise and give him a family first name and guitar player middle name. What do y'all name him? 4> When he is thirteen months, your significant other decides it's time for another child. It's a girl this time. You want her name to have something to do with the number thirteen (like thirteen letters in all or start with the thirteenth letter or whatever to do with 13). The full name has to do with 13. What do you name her? 5) After the two children are in school two new children unexpectedly arrive. How? You two decide to name HER something to do with where you live. What do you name her? You decide to name him something Spanish and something to do with blue. What do you name him? 6> The family needs a pet (or two or three or...)! What do you get? What do you name the pet(s)? 7) Now your children are all grown. What do they do? Feel free to post pics! And thanks! Hope you had a blast!

Open Question: If I plan to take a train from China to Vietnam would I be able to buy a one-way ticket?

I plan to go to Beijing in the near future, but I was thinking about backpacking through China into southeast Asia via train. If I explain this to the Chinese consulate when I go to get my visa, will they still force me to buy a round trip ticket instead of a one-way? But I thought that a requirement to get a Chinese tourist visa was to show proof that you purchased round trip tickets to China? Do I really have to go through a proxy visa/travel agency to get away with buying only a one-way ticket? Here is the thing. I don't know exactly when I will be taking the train from China to Hanoi, so I don't want to buy the train ticket until the moment I'm ready to go. Will they not let me into China until I show them proof of this ticket to Hanoi? That is crazy.

Open Question: What kind of DSLR backpack should I buy?

I am travelling to Beijing in July for 6 days. I want to take my Nikon DSLR 40, but I am leery of carrying it around the city. I thought of using a backpack, but I need it to be more than just a camera bag. I am not planning to carry much equipment (perhaps just two lenses and a cleaning cloth), but I need to personal items as well. Any suggestions on a good, relatively inexpensive bag?

Open Question: How to stay bulked up while traveling?

In 11 weeks and 1 day I'm leaving Australia to travel the world for 12 months. For the past 3 years i have done weight training 4-5 times a week. I weigh about 215 pound, and can lift some pretty heavy weights. This is something I pride myself on but while traveling ill be passing through remote places in countries like Mongolia and quite frankly even in the big cities I wont be able to afford to pay for individual visits to the gym. At the same time I don't want to lose 3 yrs of hard work so does anyone know a way to stay bulked up at my weight without actively visiting a gym? If anyone knows of alternative ways I'd be very grateful to hear them, though keep in mind ill be backpacking a lot of the time so cant carry dumbbells or heavy things around with me. thank you

Open Question: What do you like about the USA?

I'm a citizen of the USA and I live in Hollywood, CA. I guess I've taken living in the US for granted -- all I want to do is leave and I hope to live in Europe one day. I'm going on a 3 month backpacking trip this winter through Europe. I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to visit the USA (other than LA, Las Vegas, New York and Miami)! What historic cathedrals and monuments do we have, compared to Europe and the rest of the world, barely any! I don't want to get pessimistic about living in the US, so let me know what you would love to visit about the USA, anywhere and anything? I want to re-discover where I live, that's all! And I LOVE LA... SOOO MUCH! LA Pride babyyyy!
